Portugal-based Fábia Maia sings with a mellow, soulful voice and a wise heart to get across a bold and altruistic message. The queer singer and songwriter started pursuing her music life in 2014, posting hip-hop cover songs on YouTube, and released two EPs after that: "Melodia-me" (2017) and "Santiago" (2020). Since then, everything has changed, especially her mindset and her drive to be original and independent. Fábia Maia, who grew up with influences such as Avril Lavigne, Damien Rice and Ms. Lauryn Hill, switched course with "Dia Lindo", a contemporary ballad she presented in the 2021 Festival da Canção (the Portuguese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest). In 2023, Fábia expects to release her first studio album, "Avariações". A very personal set of songs that tell of her journey to deeper consciousness of herself and others. Sounds of freedom to be and love. Which are also a tribute to a free and daring artist she greatly admires, António Variações.
