Ewan MacColl (25 January 1915, Broughton, Salford, Lancashire, England - 22 October 1989, Brompton, London, England) was a British folk singer, songwriter, socialist, actor, poet, playwright, and record producer. Husband to Joan Littlewood, Jean Newlove (parents of singer/songwriter Kirsty MacColl and Hamish MacColl), and Peggy Seeger (parents of Neill MacColl, Calum MacColl and Kitty MacColl).

Founder member of the Banner Theatre.
