Actor, film director and producer, scriptwriter, singer and dancer. Born 28.12.1899 in Genève, died 7.10.1943 in Kotłas. After the outbreak of World War II, he moved to Lviv, where in June 1941 he was arrested by the NKVD on false charges of espionage. He was imprisoned in Ufa and Moscow. Later he was sent to the Kotlas gulag, where on October 7, 1943, he died of hunger and exhaustion.
