Started his career in the late 50s with Jesse Belvin as [a=The Cliques] duo. In his solo career he recorded mainly for [l=Class] and [l=King Records (3)]. After his 1967 single for [l=World Pacific], he quit the recording business and became a successful owner of a hair salons chain. He returned to the music business in the late 80s focusing on gospel music.
