Hungarian-Swedish classical violinist and music teacher, born 6 November 1913, died 29 March 2011 in Blentarp, Sweden.
He was born to a Jewish family in Chernivtsi in Ukraine and raised in Hungary. When he was four, Wolf persuaded his parents to buy him a violin and he was taught by the well known Hungarian musician Jenő Hubay along with Leó Weiner.
Wolf was 1st concertmaster of Göteborgs Symfoniker 1936-1946, professor at the Royal Manchester College of Music 1954-1964, head teacher of violin at the Edsberg Music Institute from 1958, elected to Kungl. Musikaliska Akademien in 1973 and professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music 1969–1983. He was a member of Göteborgskvartetten and leader of Wolfkvartetten 1940–1946.
