b. January 28, 1987 in Kyrgyzstan Eldar Djangirov (commonly credited as just Eldar) is a jazz pianist. Beginning the instrument at age 3, he was widely considered a child prodigy and has built a reputation as one of the foremost players of the modern jazz scene, for his notable technique, musicality and speed. He was the youngest guest ever featured on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz, appearing at the age of 11, the he returned for an encore visit at the age of 18 in 2005. His debut recording was issued by D&D Records in 2001 and he released a second trio CD for it before attracting the attention of more widely distributed labels.
