Blues singer, born c. 1915 in Oklahoma, died in Los Angeles, California, in March 1977.
In the 1930s she worked as a band singer in California, first recording under her own name for the G&G label in Los Angeles in 1945, and continuing with sessions for various companies in the same city until 1959. She had some minor hits in the 1960s with comedy numbers, and later worked in promotion at Stax Records.
Married (second time) to singer/songwriter John Criner.
