Edward Cliff, nickname of the brazilian singer Jean Carlo, was born blind and had in Ray Charles his greatest inspiration. After participating in the Jovem Guarda movement during the 60's, he recorded the singles 'I Never Walk Alone Again' and 'Nights of September', which made a resounding success in Latin America and Europe. 'Nights of September' remained 13 weeks at the top of the charts in Italy and consecrated Edward Cliff as one of the most important names of the False Englishmen movement in Brazil.
