African American classic female blues singer, born 1900, died February 17, 1947. Henderson recorded at least 18 songs between 1923 and 1926 for Paramount, OKeh and Vocalion. She later became an evangelist. At various times, Henderson sang accompanied by Jelly Roll Morton, Tommy Ladnier, Lovie Austin, Eddie Heywood, and Johnny Dodds.
