Japanese punk band. Started off as the band [a=Scanners (11)] in 1986, changed its name to Eastern Youth in 1988. The band relocated from Sapporo to Tokyo after the April 1991 release of their first EP "For Skins and Punks". They remain based in Tokyo. In around 1994, they changed from an Oi! band to more indie rock and emo/post-hardcore with strong enka influences in the singing style.
