Axis is a hard rock/heavy metal band from Stockton-on-Tees, North East England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1978. The band was part of the NWOBHM movement and split up in 1981. One of a few bands called Axis from the United Kingdom in the early 80s, that had only one release while active. Therefore not to be confused with [a=Axis (37)], [a=Axis (57)] from Liverpool and [a=Axis (75)] from Leicester. Also not to be confused with Axis from Stoke-on-Trent, another metal band.
