Dr. York

About

Born: Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. Dr. York, aka Malachi Z. York or Imam Isa, was an accomplished singer, songwriter, producer, and musician. He later became an accomplished and prolific writer on the subjects of Black pride and ancient Kemetic/Nubian spiritual sciences. He was convicted in 2004 of multiple RICO, child molestation, and financial reporting charges and is serving a 135-year Federal prison term. His followers still believe that he is innocent. He was the founder of the Nuwabian Nation, an organization whose primary goal was the spread of so-called right knowledge. He developed a language based on Ancient Kemetic (Egyptian). Nuwaubianism is often confused as having a doctrine based on racist ideology, but Dr. Malachi Z. York was often quoted as saying, “No one wins the race is racism.” Dr. York recorded with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, the Delfonics, McFadden & Whitehead, and Evelyn “Champagne” King. He also performed as lead singer in his own groups such as Jackie and the Starlights, and the Students.
