While auditioning at a Las Vegas hotel in 1973 an 18-year-old Don Goodwin from Aspen, Colorado was discovered by Paul Anka and signed to undefined. Anka managed him and wrote most of his material. Famous for the single "This Is Your Song" and known as a one-hit-wonder for that track.
"This Is Your Song" was released in December 1973 and entered the Cash Box Top 100 singles in the December 22, 1973 issue debuting at #100. It peaked at #82 in January 26, 1974 issue and fell off the chart by the next week. The single entered the Billboard Easy Listening (aka Adult Contemporary) chart at #50 in the January 5, 1974 issue and peaked at #44 on the Easy Listening chart in the February, 2, 1974 issue, its final week on the chart. It ultimately reached #86 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the same month. The song did better in Canada where it made the top 40 in the RPM Singles chart, peaking at #34 in February, 1974.
