Brazilian jazz drummer, percussionist and composer (born on August 3, 1925 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; died on July 27, 2005 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Played with Cannonball Adderley, Tony Bennett, Ron Carter, Astrud Gilberto,Antonio Carlos Jobim, McCoy Tyner, [a=Sergio Mendes], Robert Palmer, Ithamara Koorax, Frank Sinatra, Stanley Turrentine and many others. From 1971 to 1974, he was a member of Weather Report. Recorded as a leader for Muse Records, Muse Records and Muse Records labels.
