Dickie Goodman (April 19, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York – November 6, 1989 ) is considered one of the earliest proponents of sampling in music. He released a series of novelty records created from 1956 to 1986 starting with "The Flying Saucer Parts 1 & 2" (with partner Bill Buchanan). The "break-in" record format consisted of snippets of popular tunes spliced together and interspersed with dialog in the form of a radio show or an interview. Married to Susan Smith Goodman.

He committed suicide at a relative's house in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
