Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter, leader of Desmond Dekker & The Aces.
Born: July 16, 1941 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Died: May 25, 2006 in Thornton Heath, Surrey, England.
Often cited as the first superstar of reggae. He made his recording debut in 1963 (with a single titled "Honour Your Mother And Father") and made his international breakthrough with "007 (Shanty Town)" in 1967.
