Dead Skeletons (Iceland) came into being in 2008 as an accompaniment to an installation for a show at the Reykjavik art museum by artist Jón Sæmundur (Dead). Looking for a spiritual battle hymn for the installation in the show, Jón Sæmundur began recording with Henrik Björnsson (Singapore Sling) and later with Ryan Carlson and Aislinn Van Kriedt (Sunsplit, A4). This initial song, Dead Mantra, became an underground hit, prompting the full length LP Dead Magick (A Records), released by the band in 2011. Dead Skeletons was created as an art band, not as a typical touring band. Despite of that the band went on several tours mostly in Europe and USA. In 2013 the band went on a tour named Dead Comet, the name was influenced by comet ISON that was passing our solar system that year and vanished. In 2016 the band released their "live" album on the Fuzz Club label that was recorded in Berlin, Germany 2013.
