American clarinetist, classical music and television producer. Born April 13, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. Died November 14, 2007 (aged 85) in New York City, New York. He was married to singer/actress [a913036] from 1948 to 1957. He directed the Masterworks division of Columbia Records from 1950 to 1959. In 1988, Sony Corporation acquired CBS Records group, and created Sony Classical to succeed Columbia and CBS Masterworks labels.
