Dave Creffield has been working as a sound engineer and music producer, among plenty others with the West Yorkshire band Embrace. In the early 1990s he worked inter alia as a sound engineer and production assistant with Jon Langford for the Leeds-based band CUD on the occasion of their Asquarius album.
Under the name Ravey Davey he was "nurse" to The Sisters Of Mercy's drum machine Doktor Avalanche – first for the band's 1996 tour, then for 2012 festival appearances and on tours from 2014 to 2023. He was replaced as nurse by former Sisters guitarist Chris Catalyst.
