Darryl Cotton (born 4 September 1949, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia - died 27 July 2012, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, aged 62 of liver cancer) was an Australian pop, rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, television presenter and actor.
He was a founding member of Zoot. After Zoot disbanded in 1971, Darryl spent 5 and a half years in the U.K. and the U.S.A. doing session work, recording and songwriting (resulting in hits for Engelbert Humperdinck and The New Seekers). Cotton, Lloyd & Christian was formed in 1975 with undefined and Chris Christian being successful worldwide leading to TV appearances on The Cliff Richard Show, American Bandstand and Midnight Special. Darryl did two months on a 40-city U.S. tour with Olivia Newton-John as a guitarist and back-up vocalist. Pursuing a solo career, he returned to Australia in late 1978 and signed with undefined establishing himself once again in the Australian music scene with several successful singles. In 1979, his career began to branch out into the field of acting in TV shows such as Summer Rock and The Young Doctors.
