D.C. 3 was a hard rock group formed by one-time [a=Black Flag] vocalist [a=Dez Cadena] (vocals, guitar) and [a=Paul Roessler] (keyboards) in 1983, shortly after Cadena left Black Flag. Both Cadena and Roessler had long been part of Los Angeles's punk scene, but D.C. 3's sound reflected the members of love of early 70's hard rock bands like [a=Black Sabbath] and [a=Hawkwind]. The group was rounded out by drummer [a=Kurt Markham] (ex-[a=Overkill (2)]) for their first LP, 1985's "This Is The Dream". After that, [a=Ceasar Viscarra] (bass) and [a=Louie Dufau] (drums), both formerly of the [a=Stains (3)], made up the group's rhythm section. D.C. 3 recorded a total of 3 studio albums for [l=SST Records] before splitting in 1988. After the break up, SST released "Vida", a compilation of live performances by the band.
