Cyril Poacher

About

Cyril was born at Stone Common, near Blaxhall, Suffolk, in 1910. He married, joined the army and was stationed at Catterick Camp during Second World War, before returning to Blaxhall in 1946, to work at Grove Farm, where he remained until he retired in 1975. He had two daughters who both married American servicemen and left to live in the United States - one has subsequently returned. In the early ‘70s, he moved to Snape with his wife. He latterly lived in a nursing home in Suffolk, and died peacefully at the age of 89, on September 21st, 1999.
