Cultural Amnesia

About

Cultural Amnesia are an English post-industrial/electro group first active between 1979 and 1983. They released three cassette albums: Video Rideo, The Uncle of the Boot and Sinclair’s Luck and contributed to a number of compilations. They were included in 'Wild Planet', Dave Henderson's important review of c. 150 artists, labels and significant influences associated with the UK and European 'cassette culture' of the late 70s and early 80s, published in the UK music weekly Sounds (now defunct) in May 1983. At the end of the 1990s the original members of the band gradually returned to activity. Recent years have seen new music, the development of an extensive website covering the band and the cassette scene, and the re-release, or first release, of selected material from the early 1980s.
