Cuco Valoy was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on 5 January 1937. He is a Dominican salsa, son montuno and merengue singer and songwriter. He began performing Cuban son with his brother Martin Valoy, under the name Los Ahijados.He is the father of Ramón Orlando Valoy with whom he formed the band [A=Los Virtuosos], later changed to La Tribu, then La Nueva Tribu.
