Former punk musician turned scientist, Cressida "Cress" Bowyer was in a number of alt. groups performing bass & vocals throughout the late 70's to early 80's, one of which was Angels One 5 with Jimmy Cauty who she would later marry. In 1987 The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu (which would later become The KLF) were formed by Cauty and Bill Drummond, wherein Cressida would take on the role of heading up KLF Communications, as well as become a part time back-up singer, choreographer and artist for the group. This would also lead to a failed side project alongside the rest of The KLF's back-up vocalists under the name Disco 2000 (AKA Discotec 2000). She now lives in Hove and has a PhD in Biological Sciences, where since 2016 she has worked her way up to Associate Professor in Arts and Sustainability as well as the Deputy Director in the Revolution Plastics Institute at the University of Portsmouth.
