American R&B, soul and jazz guitarist. Born December 19, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas, died May 8, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. His career started as a studio session guitarist for Atlantic Records, with Dupree reputedly recording over 2500 sessions in his lifetime. One of his best known guitar riffs can be heard on the intro of Aretha Franklin’s version of "Respect".
