Cluett Johnson was an upright/double bass player active in the Jamaican Music scene in the 50's and early 60's. He was the band leader of Clue J And The Blues Blasters and also played with Aubrey Adams & His Dew Droppers.
As leader of the Clue J. & The Blues Blasters he was responsible for many of the earliest pre Ska sides recorded by Clement "Coxsone" Dodd.
He went on to play the electric bass when this became popular in the mid to late 60's and is believed to have played on some Rocksteady sides produced by J.J. Johnson such as Copasetic by [a=Rulers]. He continued to play hotel concerts in Jamaica until his death.
