Italian arranger and conductor, born in Crescentino on November 12, 1901, died in Rome on July 7th 1983. Was one of his country's most renowned band leaders from the 1930s onwards. Was the musical director of the first edition of the San Remo Song Festival (1951) and went on to fulfill that same role on seven more occasions between 1952 and 1962. In 1960 and 1962, he represented Italy as a conductor in the Eurovision Song Contest.
