Chuck Greenberg (March 25, 1950 - September 4, 1995), leader of the jazz fusion group Shadowfax, died of a massive heart attack September 4, 1995 at the age of 45 in Santa Cruz Island, California. He formed the group in the early 70's and played sax, keyboards, and produced the group. He helped developed the lyricon, the first electronic wind instrument, with engineer Bill Bernardi and it became the signature sound of Shadowfax.
