After the break-up of her band Prada Meinhoff, the German-British artist, singer and composer Christin Nichols launched her solo project. Her debut album mixes influences from post-punk and wave with dark, wide-angle pop and intimate, chanson-like moments. “No car, no perspective”, the musician sings over analog guitar riffs, adding missing houses, love and sex appeal to her musical list in a charmingly ironic way. Christin Nichols takes her listeners on a journey to sore spots and at the same time to the bar of their favorite pub. To sometimes German, sometimes English lyrics, gruff guitars experiment with synths, real drums resound to bass synthesizers. And anyway: with Christin Nichols, solo doesn't mean boring and certainly not alone.
