Since 2002 he has had a solo career.
He was part of the Swedish Alt-Country band Loosegoats, until their dissolution in 2001.
He also joined fellow bandmates and his younger brother Gustaf Kjellvander to create a small band called, Songs Of Soil which released one album, titled "The Painted Trees Of Ghostwood" in 2000.
He is known to use a Fender Telecaster (Black & White).
He was married to Karla-Therése Kjellvander
