    American piano, organ, and novachord player, conductor, composer, and arranger.

    Born: November 28, 1905 Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania - died October 31,1981 Honolulu, Hawaii.
    Studied at Juilliard when he was young. and was encouraged by its founder Frank Damrosch to become a concert pianist. Instead he pursued popular music. He began his arranging career for the Ted Black and His Orchestra. Married to Edith Caldwell (1937-1942).
    He moved to Hawaii in 1942. Chick Floyd Orchestra was the house band and Chick was the music director and co-producer of shows at "Don the Beachcomber", Waikiki, Hawaii. While living on the island, he arranged for recordings by Ed Kenney and Lani Kai as well as the Lucky Luck TV Show.
