Charlie Watts (born 2 June 1941, Kingsbury, London, England; died 24 August 2021 in London, England) was an English drummer, best known as a member of The Rolling Stones, but over the years he also became involved in more jazz- and R&B-styled solo and side projects. Watts got his first drum kit in 1955. In 1961, he met Alexis Korner and became member of Blues Incorporated. In 1963, he joined The Rolling Stones. Watts played Gretsch drums. In the July 2006 issue of Modern Drummer magazine, Watts was voted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame.
