American blues pianist and singer (born April 4, 1913 in Nashville, Tennessee, died February 4, 1951 in the same city). Cecil Gant recorded his first single in 1944, I Wonder / Cecil Boogie. He went on to release numerous sides on labels such as King, Imperial, Dot and Swing Time/Down Beat before dying of pneumonia.
