In 1962, he moved along with his mother in the suburbs of Boston (Massachusetts, United States).
From 1967 to 1970, he was conscribed in the body of the Navies of the United States. He participated in the Vietnam War but his role is limited to unloading boats.
After completing his military service, he returned to Massachusetts, where he spent the following 10 years. He returned to Canada in 1979, which he crossed in nomad for eight years.
The artist's fame crosses the borders of New Brunswick. He gives some shows in Québec and in northern Ontario, where it is well received, particularly in smaller cities or in places that have an important Acadian diaspora.
According to an estimate published in 2006, Cayouche sold more than 100,000 copies of his four albums, making him one of the best-selling artists in the history of popular music in Acadia.
