Brazilian music group, founded in Manaus in 1980. All members are all from the state Amazonas. Initially they were known as Grupo Carrapicho, performing in the forró music genre. In the 1990s, the name was changed to Banda Carrapicho, and later simply to Carrapicho. They had a global hit in 1996 with Tic, Tic Tac, reaching the top 10 in France, Belgium, and Spain, as well as charting in Canada, The Netherlands, and their native Brazil. A Frank Farian produced remix was a minor hit in 1997, including vocals by girl group Chilli.
