Carmine Coppola

American composer, conductor, arranger, flautist (born June 11, 1910, New York City - died April 26, 1991, Northridge, California). Brother of Anton Coppola.


He was first flautist for Radio City Music Hall from 1934 to 1936, the Detroit Symphony from 1936 to 1941, in the NBC Toscanini Orchestra from 1942 to 1948; staff arranger for Radio City Music Hall from 1948 to 1956. He contributed to the scores for The Godfather series, Apocalypse Now etc.

Married to Italia Pennino, with whom he had three children: August F. Coppola, Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire. Grandfather of Marc Coppola, Nicolas Cage, Gian-Carlo Coppola, Roman Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Robert Schwartzman.
