Born in Buenos Aires into a wellknown family of musicians, Carmen Piazzini grow up with famous guests like Arrau, Backhaus, Gieseking, Rubinstein and Toscanini. At the age of five years she took her first piano lessons with Vincenzo Scaramuzza. Having been a celebrated pianist already at the age of 15, she has an uncommonly large repertoire. In 1998 she received the Press Award as best Pianist of Argentina. Today Piazzini lives in Darmstadt and is a professor at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe
