After moving to the UK in the early 1990's, she has been involved with many projects over the years inside the soul and jazz realms, and is a regular at London jazz club, [l=Ronnie Scott's].

She is the daughter of Vicki Anderson and the stepdaughter of Bobby Byrd, her cousins are sisters Jhelisa and Pamela Anderson, whilst James Brown was her godfather.
