Carcariass is a Death Metal band, created in 1991, originating from Besançon (France). Since 1995 the band has been playing Melodic Brutal Death Metal. And now, since 1997, the band evolved in a Technical and Melodic Death Metal. The name CARCARIASS comes from Carcharodon Carcharias, the latin name of the Great White Shark. In 1997, the band released its first CD (9 songs) entitled "Hell On Earth". In 1998, second CD, entitled "Sideral Torment" at the impuls studios in Belgium. In 2002, last album is entitled "Killing Process", on Adipocere Records, It has been recorded at LB-LAB with Stephane Buriez near Lille. In January 2004, Jérome Lachenal joined the band as a second guitarist. The result is very amazing for the gigs ! The band played throughout France and Europe with international bands like Cradle of Filth (GB), Impaled Nazarene (FIN), Sadist (I), Alastis (CH), ... Between 2004 and 2016 the band decided to stop concerts but continued to play music. In 2009, fourth album “E-Xtinction” on Great Dane Records/Season Of Mist Distribution. In 2013, new mastering of the first two albums in a double CD called “Hell & Torment” released by Great Dane Records ; End of 2016, CARCARIASS is coming back on Tour, and played at HELLFEST 2017 and at many others Metal Festival. 2018 : CARCARIASS played at Many concerts and Worked on a new album ! 2019 : Release of fifth abum, “Planet Chaos” recorded and mixed at Downtone Studio in SWITZERLAND by DROP (Guitarist of the swiss band SAMAEL & SYBREED). Mastered in SWEDEN at Fascination Street Studio by JENS BOGREN (ARCH ENNEMY, DIMMU BORGIR, AMON AMARTH, SEPULTURA, KREATOR,…). Jerome joins the band as a new singer 2023 : Release of the 6th album «Afterworld». This album was recorded and mixed by DROP at Downtone Studio in SWITZERLAND and mastered by JENS BOGREN at Fascination Street Studio in SWEDEN. The album is distributed by SEASON OF MIST Distribution. Bob joins the band for playing rhythm guitar. So the current line-up is Pascal Lanquetin (lead and rhythm guitars), Raphaël Couturier (bass and vocals), Bertrand Simonin (drums), Bob Meraglia (rhythm guitars) and Jérome Thomas (singer)
