Candelaria Zamar
Candelaria Zamar

Candelaria Zamar is an Argentine artist, born in Córdoba in 1986 and currently living in Buenos Aires. She studied composition, piano and singing, and has collaborated with numerous artists, sharing the stage and participating as a guest on albums and recordings. Disconcerting and restless, delicate and with an air of avant-garde, the songbook presented in its two albums (Un Vaso de Agua y Una Linterna) is anything but complacent. Challenging the popular ear, he inserts elements of contemporary music to give life to his own song format. And when he wants, he also releases some great little anthem that refers to the most classic bastion of Latin American pop-rock. As a chamber music composer, she has premiered works with the Suono Mobile Argentina ensemble, the Orchester Studio de Cergy-Pontoise (Fr) and the Música Impura ensemble and was a founding member of the contemporary music collective Grupo Compuesta La Colmena. Each step in his musical history responds to an interest and a need for exploration and expansion of expressive and creative resources. The sound and conceptual search for a balance between given structures and new structures, between the organic and the artificial, is what has been marking her creative path and takes her through various fields to incorporate new tools to open new sound spaces.
