Brown's Musical Brownies

About

American western swing band based out Ft. Worth, Texas, active 1936-1938. A reconstituted version of Milton Brown And His Brownies led by Derwood Brown after the death of his brother Milton.

The band split in 1938, but after stints in Houston or Tyler and Dallas, Derwood returned to Fort Worth and re-established a "Musical Brownies" group with Ocie Stockard and Wanna Coffman. Younger brother Roy Lee Brown would also use the "Brownies" name throughout his career.
