They first appeared on Wurlitzer Jukebox in 1996. Their experimental pop music references the work of BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Ennio Morricone or John Barry. At the time they were frequently associated with Stereolab.
Lead singer Trish Keenan died of pneumonia on 14 January 2011 at the age of 42.
