    Bongos Ikwue is a Nigerian musician, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on the 6th of June 1942 in Otukpo, Benue State, Nigeria. He is known for his unique blend of traditional African music, highlife, and jazz, which he calls "Ikwue-jazz". Bongos Ikwue began his music career in the early 1960s as a member of the popular Nigerian band, The Apostles. He later went on to form his own band, Bongos Ikwue and the Groovies, which released several albums in the 1970s and 1980s. Some of his popular songs include "Still Searching", "Cock Crow at Dawn", "Woman Made the Devil", "Amen", and "One United Nigeria". His music often addresses social and political issues, and he has been recognized for his contribution to Nigerian music. Bongos Ikwue has also been involved in acting and filmmaking. He has appeared in several Nollywood movies and produced the film "Mask of Dust" in 1996. Bongos Ikwue remains a respected and influential figure in Nigerian music, with a career that spans several decades. With 20 year hiatus, Bongo returned to play in 2006 as Double X and has his children as part of his band. Awards : The Lifetime Achievement Award at the Nigerian Music Awards (2005), the Nigerian Music Industry Merit Award (2016)
