Born March 30, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia, USA.
Son of country singers Kitty Wells & Johnny Wright, & brother of country singers Ruby Wright & Carol Sue Wright.
He used the name "John Wright" when he was a regular on television's McHale's Navy (1962).
Between 1967 and 1979, Wright charted 21 singles on the U.S. Hot Country Songs charts. "Here I Go Again", which reached #13 in 1971, was his highest-charted release.
