Robert Rafelson (February 21, 1933, New York City – July 23, 2022, Aspen, Colorado) was an American film director, writer, and producer, often regarded as one of the key figures in the founding of the New Hollywood movement in the 1970s.
In 1965, Rafelson formed a partnership with Bert Schneider, creating undefined. The duo brought to television The Monkees (1966–1968) and later made films such as Easy Rider (1969) and Five Easy Pieces (1970). In 1970, they added a partner, Steve Blauner and renamed the company to BBS Productions.
