Based in Naarm (Melbourne), dream-gaze outfit Blue Vedder have created acontemporary but accessible gateway to the ambient trance of the nostalgic shoegazesoundscape. Inspired by the sonics of my bloody valentine, Slowdive, Radiohead, DIIVand The Smashing Pumpkins, the group have made a name for themselves in theMelbourne DIY scene and are beginning to embed their signature sound across thecountry. Blue Vedder formed in early 2021 with the aim of reinstating the ever popular 90’sgenre, complete with heavy fuzz, delay and copious amounts of reverb, into its formerglory, by creating a project to fill the genre’s void in the Melbourne musical landscape.Selling out shows in both Melbourne and Wollongong as part of a successful east-coasttour, the group are using Blue Vedder as a vessel for their dark and secret love of thegritty, emotive genre. With multiple upcoming releases, a recent collaboration with KittyRecords, and plans for an Australian tour in late 2022; Blue Vedder are well on track tocement their place in the Australian Industry.
