Bill Douglas

Canadian bassoonist, pianist, composer and teacher. Born November 7, 1944 in London, Ontario. Douglas toured and recorded for thirty years with clarinetist Richard Stoltzman. As a bassoonist, Douglas has played with the Toronto and New Haven Symphonies, and has recorded three RCA albums with Peter Serkin and Tashi. As a jazz pianist, Douglas has toured and recorded with vibraphonist Gary Burton and bassist Eddie Gomez. His compositions have been performed by major orchestras and chamber groups around the world. Douglas taught at Cal Arts for seven years and Naropa University for thirty-three and a half years.
