Swedish opera singer (bass baritone), actor and speaker, born June 29, 1952. He was educated at Operastudio 67 1971–1974 and the Statens Musikdramatiska skola. Krantz has performed over 100 roles and worked at, among others, the Folkoperan, the Royal Opera, the Värmland Opera and the Malmö Opera and Music Theater. The roles include Amonasro in Aida, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Ping in Turandot, Scarpia in Tosca, the speaker and Papageno in The Magic Flute, the four base roles in Hoffmann's Adventure, Figaro in The Barber in Seville, the title role in Macbeth, Jago in Otello and Swedenborg in the opera specially written for him, Hemligheter, in which he portrays Emanuel Swedenborg. He has been chairman of the Jussi Björlingsällskapet since 2005.
