Basil Rathbone

South African–born British actor, most famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes and of villains in such swashbuckler films as "The Mark of Zorro", "Captain Blood", and "The Adventures of Robin Hood". Born 13 June 1892 in Johannesburg, South African Republic. Died 21 July 1967 (aged 75) in New York City, New York, USA.
